Metallic roofs are the most common roofing material in the country. When you have taken this measurement, divide it by 100 so that you can get the measurement which you need to see in roofing squares.
2. Improper use of nails
Sometimes contractors lay so much emphasis on measuring the roof area and adjusting the slope and pitch that they forget that nails are part of the roofing process. When the wrong types of nails are used, the roof ends up with weaknesses which could include leaking and also the sheets being loosely fastened onto the timber frame. These are two problems which will not only compromise the life and service of the roof but also compromise the structural integrity of the entire building.
3. Forgetting water drainage
The life of the roof you install literary depends on how well it can drain water off it when the rainy season comes. When installing a roof, most people forget small bits such as the flashing, lack of planning about ice dams and poor gutter installation. When all these mistakes are combined, the installed roof is left very vulnerable to destruction when there is snow or other types of wet weather.
Other common mistakes which people make when installing metallic roofs include improper installation of valley flashing, allowing the iron sheets to overlap and overhang, and poor slope estimation. When all these mistakes are put together, you end up with a subpar roof.
